Ladybird Pre-School
Solar for a place to grow.
Ladybird Pre-School is an early-years setting built around children’s curiosity, creativity and individual development. Its team creates a welcoming place to learn through play, with the daily running of the building supporting that work.
A setting active through the day can be a good fit for solar, as generation may coincide with lighting, appliances and other daytime demand. At Ladybird, Solar Acre installed 12 panels on the flat roof using bucket mounting, connected to a Fox string inverter. This installation does not include battery storage.
The project shows how a modest commercial array can use available roof space without making storage a requirement. The starting point is the building and its pattern of use, with an approach that the people running it can understand.

Trade Building Plastics
A working roof in Witney.
A local business needs its building to work as hard as its team. Trade Building Plastics in Witney is part of a family-run business supplying windows, doors and building products to trade and domestic customers.
Solar Acre fitted a roof-mounted array at the premises, turning existing roof space into a source of electricity. For a business serving customers through the day, solar generation may overlap with demand from the building’s everyday operation.
This is where commercial design begins: understanding the roof and the pattern of electricity use together. The aim is a practical system that makes sense for the site, with generation estimates, equipment choices and installation arrangements explained clearly.

Your business solar journey.
A commercial system starts with the way your organisation works. We bring the roof, electricity demand and operational priorities into one clear installation plan.
01 / Understand demand
We discuss your operating hours, electricity bills and future plans. Where available, interval meter data helps reveal when you use power, so the proposal reflects your working day.
02 / Assess the site
We survey the roof, access and electrical infrastructure, and identify any structural checks needed. Roof condition, landlord consent and the space for equipment all shape what is practical.
03 / Build the proposal
Receive a design, installation scope and price with generation estimates and clearly explained assumptions. We consider self-consumption, export limits and storage where it suits the business.
04 / Plan the work
We identify relevant planning and network requirements and agree the access, safety arrangements and schedule. Any shutdowns are discussed with the people responsible for keeping your site running.
05 / Install & commission
Our team installs and tests the agreed system, coordinating access and deliveries around the site. We commission the controls and explain any restrictions or settings relevant to your operation.
06 / Handover & aftercare
We introduce your team to the monitoring, provide the relevant system documents and explain ongoing care. You know who to contact as your energy needs or the way you use the building change.
